Gunman Tells Judge To 'Suck Your Mum, Rudeboy' After Being Given A Life Sentence [News]

A GUNMAN who shot a young woman and her lover up to 16 times in a flat in South Croydon has been given a life sentence.

Zarak McKoy, 23, forced his way into Channel Wilson's home in Kingsdown Avenue and shot Shaquille Forde-Morgan, 19, up to 14 times at close range.

Miss Wilson, 20, was hit in the leg and back during the attack at 3am on July 6 last year but was able to call an ambulance before passing out. Both victims survived the attack.

McKoy, of Hambrook Road, South Norwood, was cleared of attempted murder but unanimously found guilty of two counts of wounding with intent and possession of a firearm following a trial in January.

Sentencing him at Croydon Crown Court today, Judge Warwick McKinnon said he had "no alternative" but life imprisonment.

The decision sparked ugly scenes as Zarak's furious father Cavell McKoy confronted the judge, shouting that the outcome had been "set from the beginning" as security staff dragged him from the room.

McKoy then stood up in the dock and shouted toward the judge "suck your mum, rudeboy" before leaving the court.

Judge McKinnon, the Recorder of Croydon, asked the defence counsel Matthew Sharratt to tell his client he must serve a minimum of nine years and 114 days before being eligible for parole.
